Laurie Dean has beEN practicing yoga for 15 years, and teaching for 11. She has been inspired and guided by many great teachers – especially Rod Stryker, founder of ParaYoga. Laurie began studying with Rod in 2003 and has taken more than 800 teacher-training hours with him, becoming ParaYoga certified in 2012. She is inspired by Rod's reverence for the Teachings and for his teachers, and appreciates his eloquence, intelligence and sense of humor!!
Laurie is one of a small group of Parayoga teachers being mentored by Rod Stryker to offer workshops based on the work of Rod's Four Desires book - a life changing read!!
IN 2016, Laurie became a certified AYURVEDA HEALTH COUNSELOR thru the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA. This unique 650 HR program has been recognized by NAMA - the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Taught by Dr Rosy Mann of Kripalu's School of Ayurveda and Kathryn Templeton, Ayurvedic Practioner and MA in Psychology. Laurie specializes in offering clients easy and effective practices to improve their health, happiness and wellness. As a teacher, it is Laurie’s desire to pass on to her students the life-changing knowledge her teachers have shared with her.
Eric Mead received his 200-hour yoga teacher certification in the ParaYoga style with Karina Ayn Mirsky at Sangha Yoga in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has practiced and studied yoga for the past 13 years. Eric’s classes are taught ParaYoga style and focus on safety, and awareness of body, breath and mind. All classes include breath work (pranayama) and meditation.
Eric met his teacher Rod Stryker in 2005 and has studied with him for the past eight years. In addition to Rod and Karina, Eric has been influenced by study with Sarah Powers, Shiva Rea and Rodney Yee.
